Pezinská Baba is a concept in itself. Hill climb races, fast motorcycles, and skiers in winter. Is that really all there is? Not by a long shot! There has always been a lively bustle under Baba. There used to be a castle here, miners dug for precious metals underground, mills ground grain, paper and sulfuric acid were produced, and wood was cut. A community of woodcutters, the Huncokárov, also lived in the heart of the forests. We will follow in their footsteps and, during our wanderings, we will certainly talk about the activities mentioned above in this area.

Itinerary
Life in the village of Pezinská Baba has always been extremely lively. Many stories have unfolded in the forests between Pezinok and Baba, and on this tour we will discover many of them, with a focus on the Huncokárov family.
Our journey in search of stories about the forest people begins and ends at the first sharp 180-degree turn towards Pezinská Baba.
During this tour, we will gradually visit four locations where the Huncokári once lived. We will recall their lives, customs, and fates, which were truly colorful in these places. Some places have been almost completely swallowed up by the ravages of time, others are in the midst of decay, but there is also a magnificently restored gem in the form of a gamekeeper’s lodge at Rybníček.
During our journey, we will also come across interesting mining sites and stop at least one of them, as it is one of the few sites – considered the largest in the world – where the garnet group mineral Goldmanite can be found. In addition, beautiful quartz rock formations and towers await us in the area above Veľká lúka.
